Michael has been a member of the Hillhouse team since 2010 and is a dedicated and commercially focussed lawyer with a wealth of experience across commercial practice areas.

Drawing on his experience in business management and his strong work ethic, Michael assists clients with practical advice and with a keen eye for detail to reduce risk.

Michael has a broad commercial practice. His core practice areas are agribusiness, commercial litigation, corporate and commercial law (transactional and advisory), personal property securities and property law.

With experience in debt recovery, insolvency, management rights and tourism and hospitality as well, Michael regularly assists broader client requirements across our portfolio.

With a growing agribusiness practice of his own, Michael provides advice on a range of agribusiness and rural issues. This has included acting in the purchase of rural properties from hobby farms through to cattle stations ($10m+), and acting for landholders in negotiating conduct and compensation agreements for mining and gas activities.

I particularly enjoy partnering with business owners and watching their businesses (and families) grow over time. Being a trusted professional advisor is a great privilege and I have developed relationships that will last a lifetime.
